Did you know shopping therapy isn’t just a myth? It is proven shopping releases endorphins. It genuinely makes you happy. Maybe that’s why I love clothes, it’s always made me happy!
I love figuring out what the new trends will be. Like any collector, I love incorporating new pieces to my growing collection. I often get asked how do you put it all together without feeling overwhelmed? Like a mathematician I see the pieces in my head like an equation: lavender fuzzy sweater + baby blue tulle skirt + black and white polka dot platform sneakers = bold, feminine street wear. It sounds crazy but it works for me. Imagine my surprise when my baby bump finally made its appearance and maternity wear was on the horizon, the constant equations in my head had gone dry. I didn’t know where to start or what to buy first. What were pieces I should invest in and what to keep from my existing wardrobe?
So, I jump started my brain by hiring myself. I took me on as a client and went through the step-by-step process I take with all my clients.
- It starts with a closet cleanse. I went through my closet and weeded through what I could wear while pregnant and packed away any items that I couldn’t.
- I made a vision board for myself which helped me formulate a shopping list.
- I went shopping! Que the endorphins and my superpower; my wardrobe equation, came back!
