The daily routine of our lives is an easy one to become lost in. All the changes. The hustle. The ever elusive search for work/life balance (tell me I’m not the only one?!) It’s not unusual to feel like you are being consumed by the business of being busy and forgetting how important it is to show up for yourself. Our style is a way we connect to our life, to our relationships, to our work, to who we are and who we want to be. Without a doubt, it can also be the first sense of self we let go of and try our best to forget.
Your own personal style is your brand. It’s how you show up for yourself, it is the effort you put in, and it often sets the tone for how you will connect with all of your life’s happenings. Dressing is different for everyone and with so many details to a well curated wardrobe, it can sometimes feel overwhelming. A piece of ourselves that we secretly choose to avoid.
Styling can be complicated, the trends, the classics, the capsule, the colours, the fit, the accessories, the designer, the thrifted – there is a lot that can go into it. It can be overwhelming and why our clients hire us the most – they need a lifeline back to themselves.
When we work with our clients, our goal is to educate them on how to use their wardrobe as a tool to connect with who they are. We pull them out of their avoidance strategies and help them create different solutions to dressing. We help them select and create a wardrobe that works for them and is focused on the 3P’s: Polished, Purposeful, & Personal.
Updating your essentials and integrating quality pieces will always make a look feel polished. There is nothing quite like a new crisp white shirt, or a pair of updated and sophisticated trousers. Polished wardrobe additions always lend themselves to feeling sophisticated.
In tandem, bringing thought into what you are wearing is where the knowledge of classic and trendy pieces come into play. How to pair them together, investing in the forever pieces, and being selective in the trends you chose to add is where you can be purposeful in how you show up for yourself.
And then there are the pieces that speak to you personally – that jeweled white loafer may not be for everyone, but it is for you. If you love it, you make it work. You own it. You make it purposefully personal. You make it inspiring, and you wear it with confidence.
That’s where all the feels come into your dressing – feeling polished, making your selections purposeful, and letting your personality shine through. It is the trifecta of dressing. It’s where we shine as stylists, helping our clients bring all three into their wardrobe and re-introducing them to the joy of dressing.
